Abstract
The strategic and commercial oil reserved bases have been built in our country . However, the large atmosphere tanks used to stored the oil are always faced to failure caused by the environment during the years. The flexibility of the soil surrounding the tanks will lead to the tank dislocation, while chemical reaction will caused the
rusting , corrosion and perforation. According to statistics , the corrosion and
perforation are the main failure modes.So it is needed to monitoring and evaluating the operating tanks. Therefore, the magnetic flux leakage testing has been adopted as a main method for testing the tank floor.
In recent years, many magnetic flux leakage testing instruments are researched and putted into the engineering application. However, the lack of testing standard for the advanced instrument hinders the development of this method. The finite element simulation and the electronic testing combined with experiment have been applied to study the magnetic flux leakage testing method for the large atmosphere tanks. The factors that influence the reliability of this technique have been analyzed, laying a solid foundation for preparation of new standard.
Firstly, the numerical model of magnetic flux leakage testing magnetizer is built
by finite element method based on software-ANSYS.
