In order to improve the ease and accuracy of pulse measuring instrument, the subject of the design of a measuring instrument based on the pulse of the microcontroller 51. AT89C51 microcontroller as the core, the infrared light-emitting diode and phototransistor sensor, and use the internal timer of the microcontroller system to calculate the time, the pulse is generated by the phototransistor sensor, microcontroller pulse beat by pulse accumulation number of time timed by the timer derived. The operation of the system can display the pulse frequency and duration. The system stops running, it will show the total pulse frequency and duration. After testing, the system is working properly, and meet the design requirements.
