This paper presents low voltage lines connecting poor contact with the needle plate model , different types of contact and its environment were formed in a laboratory environment, make use of partial discharge detector to detect discharge and analysis the final test resu lts. This paper conducted the following studies: First, the initial contact resistance of the discharge test No gap discharge test; adopt with the needle plate structure and using two copper wires with pressure to simulate gapless, change the initial contact resistance, observe absence of a discharge phenomenon during the process of current increasing and record the initial contact resistance value of the initial discharge. Gap discharge test; selecting a model of the needle plate which needle pole have electrode roughness and different shapes, rotate micrometer to change initial contact resistance value, observe absence of a discharge phenomenon during the process of current increasing and record the initial contact resistance value of the initial discharge. Second, experimental research related to poor contact discharge the impact of different types contact; Contact types are divided into point -plane, line-plane and plane-plane, summarize the two-dimensional distribution of discharge spectra of N-Q-Ф. the impact of different gap size between poor contact; Gap size are 0mm, 0.04mm, 0.08mm, 0.12mm, summarize the two-dimensional distribution of discharge spectra of N-Q-Ф. the impact of type of load (cosφ) ; According to the actual operating conditions of the power grid, power factor changes into 0.83 to 0.97 during dischar
