Subject:The Subject:The Analysis of Behavior of Beam。to·Column W曲 Moment Connections with bolted-splicing In Steel Frame Specialty: Structural Engineering Name:LvJingta0(Signature)!Y j≥匦 Instructor:Guo Bingshan(Signature) ABSTRACT Steel structure is widely used in buildings in the world because of the light weight, excellent performance in earthquakes and the ideal ductility of steel.But during the 1994 Northridge Earthquake in America and 1995 Hyogoken-Nanbu Earthquake in Japan, steel frames were seriously damaged,and many of which were brittle fracture at the connectons.This indicated the behavior of beam-to.column web moment connections with bolted spHcing should be further studied,and consequently arose the recognition of the structural engineering experts.The analysis on the behavior of beam-to—column web moment connections wim bolted-splicing is not only significant from the theoretical aspect,but also important in practice. Based on the elastic and plastic mechanics,using the finite-element analysis,the nonlinear finite model of the beam-to-column is established according to the American code.The model involved geometry,material noMinear and friction.The response of beam—to·colunm web moment connections with bolted--splicing under monotonous load is researched on,After comparing between the finite—element analysis and experimental results,the author verified the FEM. The author design a base model based on relevant code and the prevailing size at present steel flame,according to which a series model are created by varying parameters at beam-to—column connection.During model being created,some important parameters are considered such as the thickness of column flanges,splice plate at beam flanges and webs,and bolt pretension,friction coefficient at contact region,axial loading on column, etc.Then through computer modeling and calculating using ANSYS finite element program,the author draw some important conclusions corresponding to which some suggestions ab
