ABSTRACT
Benzo ic acid is an imponant o唱anic chemical raw materjal,wjth a wjde range of applications in pharmaceutical,food,chemical and other aspects.However,Benzoic acid waste water’containing benzoic acid,benzyl alcohol,benzene formaldehyde,toluene,and other aromatic organic conlpounds, produced in the production process. High concentrations of these o略anics,with a strong toxic a11d acidic corrosive,will cause great pollution to enVironment if discharged directly. Based on the characteristics of the wastewaterextraction—Fenton treatment process was proposed.Firstlyj the production of raw materjals toluene was used as the extraction solvent extraction teniarv wastewater to remoVe orgajlic pollutants m waste water,the organic phase was缸o reused the reactor,and the waStewater treated by extraction was used Fenton advanced oxic【ation technobgy to make the water compliance. The chauracters of degradation of Benzoic acid were inVestigated by Fenton reagent.
Firstly;the degradation of benzo ic acid was studied in the homogeneous Fenton system.The e虢cts of pH Value,dosage of H202 and Fez+,and i11itial concemration of
bellZoic acid on removal e尚ciency were investigated. Results demonstrated that at
optimum pH=3.O a11d room temperature,the removal emciency ofbellzoic acid and TOC reached 1 00。0%and 4 1。9%respectively aRer 60 mins when the best econo耐cal dosage of
H202 was the theoretical quantity of 1 2.3mmol/L and optimum molzur ratio H202:Fe2+was 30:1.The maximum removal e箍ciencv of TOC arriVed at 45.4%when the i11itial
concentration of benzoic acid waS 200mg/L.AboVe this concentration,it was suggested to take adVantage of sequential H202 dosing to obtam high remoVal efnciency of benzoic acid.
