Quasi-technical words are those which are used both in ordinary life and technical registers. For example: work--(daily)job, task;(physics)the use of force to produce movement energy--(daily)dynamic quality; (physics)usable power as heat and electricity * Technical words are the words used specifically for the language of a particular register. For example : In biology, we can find such words as promycelium(先菌丝),palaeodictyoptera(古网翅类), but not in other registers. * Function The main function of scientific register is to provide information for readers. To convey general concepts such as light, colour, ray, weel, axis,etc.,which can be used in varity of registers. To convey concepts in a specific field such as circuit, wavelength, frenquency, capacitor,etc. To convey concepts in a genral field such as electricity, power, force, optics(光学), etc. To refer to objects concerned in scientific register such as lens, vessel, bresker（断路器）, etc. To convey other concepts concerned in scientific register such as means, methods, theory, etc. * Scientific words can express process and relation in scientific register by three means: Nominalization: form--formation; distribute--distribution. Verbalization of relational elements: because--cause, require; so, therefore--result in; for example--is, represent. Non-finite verbs to indicate process in the form of active or passive voice.
