Design of talking about lesson for SB7 unit 4 sharing No.2 Middle School Zhang lan Good morning, ladies and gentleman. Today, I feel honored to have the chance to share my ideas about how to teach reading part of unit 4 sharing. In the reading process, I will focus on students’ long-term development and enable them to use proper reading skills and strategies. In other words, students are guided to read efficiently and independently. My teaching plan will include 5 sections. They are:analysis of the reading material, the teaching methods ,the studying method, teaching procedures and blackboard design. Section 1 Analysis of the teaching material This unit is about voluntary work and sharing. The reading passage is an airmail letter from a young Australian woman, Jo, who worked as a volunteer teacher in Papua New Guinea(PNG). After analyzing it carefully, I find the article has two unique characteristics. First, it includes some photos, which can help students picture the places where Jo worked. Second, it is in the form of a letter. The students are familiar with the form. Therefore, it is easy for them to grasp the main idea of the letter. Based on the analysis of the teaching material, I have chosen the following as the teaching aims of my lesson: The 1st aim: Students learn the skills to get the main idea of a passage. The 2nd aim: students learn the language points and sentences patterns. And make sure they can use them correctly. The 3rd aim: Students are encouraged to practice, participate and co-operate in the classroom activities. The 4th aim: Students get a better understanding of what voluntary work is. They can learn to give and share when needed. Section 2 Teaching methods In order to achieve the teaching aims mentioned above, I decide to ?choose Communicative method (交际教学法), Guided reading and Task-Based Teaching(任务教学法) as the main teaching approaches. With these teaching methods, I can guide students to use effective reading
