Teaching material: Senior English for China Student’s Book 1B UNIT 15 The necklace Period 2 Pre-reading,reading and post-reading Hello, everyone; ??Thanks for giving me an opportunity to talk about some of my teaching ideas.?My topic is the necklace from Unit 15. My discussion is made up of four parts. ?Part 1 Understanding of this lesson. Here is my analysis of the teaching material. ?? This lesson is a reading passage. It plays a very important part in the English teaching of this unit. Ss are supposed to improve their reading ability, in addition, they should learn more than knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, idioms and informal expressions . At the same time, we should get the Ss to understand some difficult sentences to comprehend the passage better. The Ss should do some listening, speaking and writing, too. Of course, the Ss should receive some moral education. Above all, we should let the Ss understand how to enjoy a drama. We should motivate their interests in English drama. ?? Teaching aims of this period are the following: Knowledge aim: Understand the main idea of the text. Ability aim: Retell the text in their own words. Emotional aim: Understand the hypocrisy of a capitalist and Mathilde for her acts by paying a heavy price, at the same time, establish the correct aesthetics, outlook on life and values. Next are Teaching important and difficult points: It is how to understand the text better. And the teaching difficult points are: Use their own words to retell the text. Master the important words, phrases and difficult sentences in the text Before reading, we should keep in mind something about Ss: (1).The Ss have known something about the necklace in warming up and given materials in Ss’s book. (2).They are lack of vocabulary. (3).They are not good at expressing themselves and communicating with others in English. (4).Some Ss are not active in the class because they are afraid of making mistakes. Part 2 Teaching theories,
