The traditional manual operation mode can not adapt to the new harbor development trend and has to be combined with the field bus technology in order to realize the automatic operation mode. In the background of the Tianjin harbor project, the author has achieved the design and implementation of the control system in the auto-stacker process based on the Fieldbus-ControlNet. This thesis contains the following contents: ⅰ. Study the Rockwell ControlLogix 5000 series PLC and ControlNet technology, design the auto-stacker control system and achieve the system configuration and programming. The paper produces the use of ControlNet to link single stacker, PVP(operation panels) and PC each other and the modes of manual and automatic control have been implemented. ⅱ. According to the control system in the process of auto-stacker in Tianjin harbor project, the principles, requirements and achievements PAGE PAGE IV to design an automatic system have been raised. The product process has been analyzed in the structure view. The frames, theories and skills for hardware/networks configuration, software program coding and HMI configuration, including the application of RSView32 for HMI, have been described. ⅲ. Because the automatic operation mode needs to be supervised well, the author designs troubleshooting information database to enhance the stability. Compared with the old system, the advantages of this new control system are obvious. ⅳ. The solutions of some technical FAQ in this project have been enumerated in this paper. ⅴ.
