Lesson plan Name: 黄 芸 Leona Topic: Conversation teaching “I’m watching TV.” Teaching Goal: 1.New words and phrases: wash clothes, eat out 2. Sentence pattern: Hello, this is …. Not much. Do you want to join me for dinner? I’d love to. See you then. Key points: Learn and grasp the new words and phrases in the conversation. Talk about daily activities on the phone by way of present progressive tense. Difficult points: Imitate the authentic pronunciation and intonation of the conversation. Apply the new phrases and sentence pattern in the daily talk. Teaching process: Step 1: Leading-in ①Greet as usual. ②Play a game: T shows some photos of JennyLaura and phrases accordingly on the screen. Ss make the complete sentences by way of present progressive tense. “Jenny is using the computer”. Grade and find out the winner of this game. Step 2: Listen to the conversation ①There are three basic questions about the conversation for the students before listening and make sure each questions has been understood by Ss. ②T plays the audio for only once and asks the questions. Pay attention to the phrase “go out for dinner” means “eat out” in the conversation. Step 3: Imitate the conversation ①T plays the audio sentence by sentence and has Ss to repeat what they have heard without looking at the book. ②T points out the special pronunciation and intonation of each word in each sentence. Have Ss understand pronunciation?rules and apply them in other places. ③Grammar focus: How to use telephone language like: this is …, is that..? May/Could I speak to..? Hold on, please. “Not much”( T sets situations and make sentences for Ss to translate I’d love to=I would love/like to, want to= would like/love to Compare “Join, Join in, take part in” ④Ss go though the whole conversation for the last time with the help of teacher’s hint.
