Lead in 1. Let one student help the teacher show this part. Step2. 1). Learn the weather. Give five pictures to show what they mean. 2). Practice the important sentential form. What’s the weather like? How is the weather? -- It’s raining/ rainy..... 3). Section A 1a ,1b Introduce some culture about the five cities. Play the tape and get Ss to write the city names in the boxes. Check the answers. Look at the 5 pictures in 1a. Encourage Ss to use the description words to describe the weather: ①Beijing—sunny and warm/hot ②Shanghai—cloudy and cool ③Boston—windy and cool ④Moscow—snowing and cold ⑤Toronto—raining and humid. Step4. Weather report, Pair work and Group work. Show a weather map of China. Get Ss to make a weather report as a CCTV anchor. They may begin with asking the weather in each city, then make up a report about it. The purpose is to practice the oral English. Step 5. Step6. Exercise and summary. Fill in the blanks and choose the right answer. Step7. Homework Watch a weather report on TV and take down some notes about the weather forecast for tomorrow, and then write a report about it.
