PHA, as a kind of degradable material, can be used in many areas, such as bioplastics, medical materials etc. In this study, several soil or water samples were collected from environment, and a polyhydroxyalkanoate producing strain was isolated from soil by enrichment culturing, Nile blue fluorescence staining, Sudan black staining, and Fourier transform infrared spectra elemental analysis. This strain was identified and named as Rhizobium sp. H2-5 according to its morphological features, physiological and biochemical tests as well as 16S rDNA gene sequence analysis.
