Ⅰ. Teaching Aims
1. Knowledge Aims
1) Learn and use these key words: meeting, video, organize, potato chips, chocolate, upset, taxi, advice;
2) Learn how to use these sentences:
① ─I think I’ll go to the party with Karen and Anna.
─If you go to the party, you’ll have a great time!
② ─What will happen if they have the party today?
─Half the class won’t come.
2. Ability Aims
1) Enable students to talk about their problems and give correct answers.
2) Train students’ grammar skills.
3. Emotional Aims
1) Enable students to learn how to express their own ideas and provide reasonable advice.
2) Be able to notice the feelings of other people while talking in English.
Ⅱ. Key and Difficult Points
1. Key Points
1) Master the usage of these words: organize, chocolate, upset, advice.
2) Master the sentence pattern:
—I think I’m going to go to the party with Karen and Ann.
—If you do, you’ll have a great time.
2. Difficult Points
1) Master the use of the adverbial clause of condition guided by “if”.
2) Master the principle that “Main clause uses the simple future tense while subordinate clause uses the simple present tense.”
Ⅲ. Teaching Procedure
1.Lead-in
Ask some questions.
T: If you are happy, what will you do?
S: If I am happy, I will smile.
T: If you become sad, what will you do?
S: If I become sad, I will cry.
T: What will happen if you are going to do too much work?
S: If I am going to do too much work, I will get tired.
2. Presentation
1) Show some pictures to present new structure:
If it is sunny this Sunday, I’ll go fishing.
Ask several students:
What will you do if it is sunny this Sunday?
If I have much money, I will buy a big house.
What will you do if you have much money?
Practice with the students:
2) Show some pictures to present the following:
① I think I’m going to stay at home.
If you do, you’ll be bored.
② I think I’m going to work until night.
