Introduction
Harborough Developments is a private residential development company based in Scotland. The company concentrates on the niche market forsmaller development projects, where quality in both design and construction are the overriding considerations. The company has been granted planning permission for a development of 150 homes in the village of Deaconsbank in East Lothian. The development will be scattered across the village situated on two fields and on three plots. As far as possible, the development will be in keeping with local styles and existing character of the village.
The purpose of this report is show some methods to different groups and analyze their advantages and disadvantages.
Analysis
Deaconsbank residents
The residents of Deaconsbank have generally supported the planned expansion of the village.
There are some concerns, however, regarding:
Proposed density of housing for each site
The new housing “fitting in” with existing styles
Access and road improvements
Landscaping and boundary issues
The purpose of the presentation to this group will be to allay fears, answer questions, provide details of proposed housing styles and present an illustration of how the village will look at the end of the development work. The venue for this presentation is the village hotel ballroom which will easily seat the 100-150 people expected to attend.
To sum up, I recommend Objects and models to this group. These visual aids are commonly used by architects and planners to provide visual impact similar to the effect of pictures to inform an audience who may need to see what the design, plan or object would look like when completed. They can be used to show possibilities, to point out any problem areas and to demonstrate what alternative is available. In addition to demonstration and explanation, models can be exhibited before and after a presentation. But on the other hand, this method also has some disadvantages, because its production cost and maintenance
