Research Research and Implementation of Image Retrieval System Based on Color Major： Computer SoftwareTheory Name：Xin Chu Supervisor：Caiwei Li Abstract The amount of digital images all over the world grows insanely along with the fast development of multimedia technology and computer network．These digital images contain a great deal of information．Thus，it requires urgently some effective and fast skills to mine and make use of images．This skill is called image retrieval technology． This paper carries on the deep discussion and studies on Content—Based Image Retrieval and related technology．And according to these algorithm，this paper designs and develops a Image Retrieval System which can apply to practice． This paper mainly contains： 1．Detailedly sum up the extraction and expression of the color,texture，and shape characteristic，as well as the character matching algorithm and relevance feedback techniques against different characters． 2．Sum up the digital image processing skills involved in this paper． 3．After the deep studies on the related theory and algorithm，an applied image retrieval system based on color is designed and developed．This system achieves image retrieval function throu曲the image color and matching algorithm in different color spaces．Furthermore，the system provides the image pretreatment module to improve the precision when necessary．Otherwise，this system offers related interface which provide platform for further study． Ⅱ1 4．Validate 4．Validate the precision and the recall of the system and compare with different matching algorithm through experiments．The result shows that this system has good image retrieval ability． KEY WORDS：Image Retrieval，Image Retrieval System，Digital Image Process， Characteristic Extraction，Characteristic Matching 1v 第1章引言随着科学技术的高速发展，特别是计算机技术和网络技术的发展，信息高速 第1章引言 随着科学技术的高速发展，特别是计算机技术和网络技术的发展，信息高速 公路的建设以及多媒体的广泛使用，使得数字化多媒体数据飞速增长，极大地满 足了人们的需求。与此同时，信息膨胀也给人们查找这些信息带来了极大的不便。 因此，对于这些资料的快速查找就成为了一个非常迫切的需求。从而，使得基于 内容的多媒体信息检索成为了一个热门的研究领域
