The competition between corporations has been turning to that between supply chains. Managers have gradually found that the inventory impacts significantly on both the cost and the level of service in the management of supply chains. Many corporations are in face of how to decrease the cost of inventory as well as to improve the level of service. The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is an outstanding management mode out of the condition. Firstly, the paper made a research in the core idea and the advantages of the VMI and analyzed the condition as well as the steps how to apply the VMI.
