Comparison Comparison ofEconomical Sentences in Chinese-English Communication Abstract From the macro point of view,English stresses hypotaxis while Chinese pays more attention to parataxis．There will be lots of differences in syntactic structure when Economy Principle is applied to these languages．Chhlese economical sentences observe morc meaning than syntax，which is opposite to Er【glish economical sentences．Considering these differences,We find that sometimes it is difficult to Wanslate an economical sentence from Chinese to En91ish,especially in the informal texts．In this paper,the auger divides the content into three main sections for the ease of discussion of this problem．In the fast section，the author introduces the concept of syntactic structure and the main difference between the English syntax and Chinese syntax．In addition to this，a typical example is given to prove the problem．In order to further prove these problems in the second section,the author offers more examples to analyze them from three aspects：nuH subject，null verb and null object．The peripheral object is also a typical object．In this section,the author also analyzes the peripheral object that is a typical example of showing the charactefisti岱of EP in Chinese sentences．Of coume，the EP cannot be used SO much in every situation．After analysis of EP in the Chinese informal texts，the author tarns to the Chinese formal texts．Chinese sentences tend to adopt more complete sentence structure in order to provide listeners or readers with clear and sufficient information in a formal situation or an article in the formal style，and there are fewer difficulties arising from incomplete structure in translation from Chinese to En【班sh．After comparison and analysis，the author suggests that we should pay more attention to difference between English and Chinese syntax in intercultural communication,especially in the translation from Chinese to English：When We translate all economical Chinese sentence into Ene
