Harbin Commercial Bank as a local joint-stock commercial banks, has made a useful contribution and tried to support small enterprises and services the general public. But in the face of Chinese and foreign banks’ fierce competition, Harbin commercial bank still has many urgent problems needed to solve in the knowledge management. first of all, this paper pointed out the opportunities and challenges that commercial banks is facing, proposed the need for the implementation of knowledge management for the Harbin City Commercial Bank, and analyzed the development of the knowledge management features in Domestic and foreign commercial banks. Then it analyzed the basis activities and support activities of knowledge management using the theory of the value chain for Harbin Commercial Bank, and pointed out the problems that existed in the basis work of knowledge management of Harbin Commercial Bank including knowledge generation, storage knowledge, the sharing of knowledge and application of knowledge, At the same time, it analyzed the problems that existed in the support activities of knowledge management of the Harbin City Commercial Bank ,such as the banking culture, knowledge management strategies, organizational structure, human resources and information.
