With the high speed development of economy and the rapid increase of peoples living standard， energy-saving， environmental protection， comfortable， healthy and high-efficient green ecological residential buildings will become the dominant trend in the future. The survival and development of human beings do need very good ecological environment. The combination of ecological theories and architectural methods is a new trend in the 21’st century dwellings’ development. In this paper， it begins with the the basic concepts and theories of the green building， ecological residential and green management， expounding the meaning， characteristics and development trend of green ecological residential. Secondly， it discusses several development points of the green ecological residential ， such as planning， design， green construction and marketing. Then it explores the operation management process of green ecological residential， with the guidance of operation management theory， and the supports of relevant management technology and intelligent system. Finally， the theory wills theory into practice， studying the development and management methods of green ecological residential， with the example of Beianlvy in Harbin. By extensively referring to theories and research results about sustainable development， green architecture， ecological residence， operation and management from domestic and foreign， analyzing the laws， design specification， government policy and document， the paper summed up some knowledge about urban ecological residential. Through the analysis of literature and induction， based on the conclusion of the system theory and technology data， it grasped the green ecological residential building theoretical framework， focusing on the green ecological residential in cold region.
