II II The Development Status and Countermeasures of Vegetable Seed Industry in Nanning City of Guangxi Zhang Jueping College of Agriculture，Guangxi University，Nanning 530004，China Abstract It was a historic opportunity for the development of modern crop seed industry brought historic opportunity to the development of seed industry as the publication of the View of the Regulations on Accelerating the Development of Modern Crop Seed Industry. Nanning has superior natural resources and a good location advantages and we should grasp this opportunity to speed up the development of vegetable seed industry. In this paper, we imposed some development strategies and countermeasures according the results from the SWOT analysis in the basis of the investigations of Nanning vegetable seed industry. Our results showed that the enterprises integrated with breeding, reproduction and promotion had been appearance in Nanning vegetable seed industry. These enterprises paid more attention to the publicity, marketing and after-sales service of the seed productions. And they also established the sales network by various ways. It could be found that these enterprises had intensive senses about the corporate brand, the protection of property rights, cooperation and law awareness for their seed productions. They usually had varieties vegetable seed productions. However, these enterprises were usually in a small scale with weak competitive strength in the market. Another three problems were as following: 1) the investment of breeding and reproduction was too little; 2) little efforts were to put to the protection of their breeding achievements; 3) the seed industry associations didn’t play their role well and made little effects for the development of the vegetable industry.
