PAGE PAGE IV III III THE DENDROBIUM RESOURCES INVESTIGATION AND DENDROBIUM OFFICINALE REGRESSION TEST OF YACHANG ORCHIDS NATURE RESERVE IN GUANGXI Postgratuate: Fengzhi Wu Supervisor: Prof Jia-Ye Lai ABSTRACT Dendrobium was the second biggest genera of Orchidaceae, only next to Bulbophyllum . as a whole of higher medicinal value and ornamental value, Dendrobium was the key genera of peple development and utilization. Due to excessive excavation and other factors, wild Dendrobium species was severely damaged, has become one of the most threatened populations in Guangxi Yachang nature reserve. Regression test was an important way to the wild populations’ reconstruction. The paper focused on the Dendrobium resources investigation and Dendrobium officinale regression test in Guangxi Yachang nature reserve. The main results were as follows: There are 9 species in Dendrobium genus, (Dendrobium Denneanu、D. loddigesii、D. hercoglossum、D. aphyllum、D. fimbriatum、D. lohohense、 D. officinale、D. lindleyi、D. chrysanthum). All the Dendrobium showed local centralized distribution, and showed the scattered distribution as a whole. The Dendrobium loddigesii populations mainly showed centralized distribution and had the largest centralized distribution region; habitat fragmentation in different degree was quite normal for the Dendrobium genus plants; Dendrobium was distuburted by human beings in different degrees , especially to the Dendrobium officinale . It is the initial stage for the artificial cultivation and utilization of the Dendrobium . Significant difference was found in survival rate and growth rate between the two cultivation modes., the breeding activity of intergrowth on living trees was normally running; polysaccharide acid content and other physical and chemical composition had no significant difference at the same, but different times had significant difference.
