⑥ ⑥ 硕士擘位论文 MASTER’S THESIS Ecological tourism is increasingly at仃acting attention of tourist and academic circles in various countries．As all important appmach which can promote the coordinated development of economy,ICSOUIO：S，environment and tourism,ecological tourism has become a much heated area and fiend for tourism development in today’S world． As the problems incurred for long by the traditional development model of mass tourism arc popping up，tourism in Hainan is travailing along the way of sustainable development．As a new model for tourism sustainable development,ecological tourism inevitably beA?omes the way out with its multi·functions． Based on the relevant current research and practices on ecological tourism home and abroad,and based on the summary of relevant defimfious and theories concerning ecological tourism，the paper conducts a SWOT analysis of the sustainable development for Halnan ecological tourism and makes a study on the strategy construction for the development．The paper consists of five parts： The first part delineates the background and significance of the study,makes an introduction of current research and practices．and expounds the content and innovations and app加aches adopted in the paper． The second part deals with the definition concerning ecological tourism and the theories available．Such definitions and connotation of ecological tourism offered by scholars home and abroad as ecological tourism，mass tourism,sustainable tourism and nature tourism are differentiated in the paper．And the introduction of relevant theories on sustainable development for ecological tourism，including theories 011 sustainable development，ecological ethics and scenery ecology,is rendered． The third part conducts a SWOT analysis of sustainable development of ecological tourism in Hainan pmvince．Based on the present situation of ecolo舀cal tourism in Haman,the paper emphasizes the significance of strengthening ecological tourism development in Hainan and analyze
