In recent years, with the rapid development of health care industry, there are more and more health care products taking sea cucumber as the principal raw material, and more in-depth studies on medical value and healthcare functions of sea cucumber are carried out. Sea cucumber contains a variety of important chemical components, such as sea cucumber polysaccharides, saponins, collagen, peptides, lipids and so on. These components have some biological activities, such as anti-tumor, antioxidant, immunoregulatory, antibacterial, antiviral and hypoglycemic, which can be used to prevent and assist on treating certain diseases.
