It was organized by Ito Jinsai in 1661, one year before he founded Kogido i.e. Horikawajuku, and began to teach （古义堂）（ 堀河塾） students. Doshikai lasted for about 13 years, from the beginning of 1661 to 1674. It was the most important educational institute within the Horikawajuku Due to the （堀河塾） existense of Doshikai, Ito Jinsais Horikawajuku gained different characteristics from the other schools in the Edo period. This paper prensents a comprehensive introduction of the history of Doshikai, followed by discussions on the key changes of Jinsais thoughts, based on the articles he wrote for Doshikai.
