* During development of the Servo-i, the clinical performance built into the ventilator has been the main focus. As you will see this means that several unique features, in terms of sensing, regulation and patient adaptation has been achieved. These features may not always be easy to visualize at bedside, but is instead often referred to as “Servo-Magic”. We have chosen some of the features that makes the difference in the Servo-i. A high expiratory resistance will impose a load which will constitute an internal trigger threshold. A weak effort in this situation may not reach the trigger threshold set on the ventilator. The Time Constant Controller Valve? of the Servo-i will guarantee that there will be a very low resistance to the exhalation. This in turn will favour triggering, as hyperinflation is minimized, resulting in a situation where a consistent patient effort will be consistently rewarded. The superior speed in sensing and controlling will likewise give immediate unloading during laboured breathing.
