本科生毕业论文 PURPOSE This thesis mainly dealt with three translations of Li Bai’s famous poem “Changganxing”, and appreciates the three versions respectively. Through appreciating and comparatively studying both the original text and translations, we can learn the translation techniques and translation theories. Through the deed studies of the three versions, we learn how to avoid the defects and use advantages in the future practice of translation. Research Methods 1. Selecting this topic by reading a lot of reference books in library and from internet information. 2. Consulting some authoritative books from famous writers to know their translation theories. 3. Using the internet to research relevant information and reading a variety of periodicals . 4. Given suggestions from supervisor and amended and perfect the thesis. ABSTRACT Li Bai is a prominent romantic poet in Tang Dynasty. Li Bai created a lot of famous poems, and“Changganxing”is one of the famous poem not only because it is a traditional Yuefu poem, but also it was introduced into western countries and had exotic flavors. So this thesis consists of five parts: an introduction, a conclusion, and three chapters to appreciate the three translations of “Changganxing” respectively by Erza Pound, Xu Yuanchong, Weng Xianliang. 2. Erza Pound: “The River’s Merchant’s Wife: A Letter” ☆ Introduce Erza Pound’s version and analysis the advantages of this poem, especially it uses a lot of images based on the original text. Just like “bamboo stilts” and “blue plum these images add exotic flavors into the poem. however, it existed some irrational renderings. Like“抱柱信，望夫台”these allusions lost their original meaning in Pound’s version. 3. Xu Yuan Chong’s “Ballad of Trade’s Wife” ☆ Appreciation of Xu’s version which can compare with the original text.
