Dynamic Characteristics Analysis and 3D Numerical Simulation of a Marine Air Purifier ABSTRACT The marine air purifier is one of the most important antipollution equipments in ships. The heat engine, electric generating sets produce kinds of exhaust gases in ships. The main function of this air purifier designed is to purify these mixed gases. Scholars always pay attention to the characterization of the adsorption and the clean-up effects concerning this kind of physical adsorption air purifier. According to the demands for solving practical problems and theory study, it is necessary to have a research on the dynamic characteristics of this plant which has the suction function. The main tasks in this thesis are as followed: At first, this thesis has the analysis of the entire design-process from the perspective of dynamic characteristics, including the primary design proposals, the resistance characteristic experiments and the final optimal structure plan. Then it makes a study on the dynamic characteristics’ experiments including the research on the import flow rate, dynamic pressure in different cases and the tests of the vacuum degree. It has a simulation of the air purifier with the most prevalent software Fluent. It has solved several difficult points including the model establishment of the pinholes areas and the filter element. Considering the lately practical demands for vast increase exhaust gases, it is necessary to enlarge the air purifier which can be regarded as an exhaust fan if it gets rid of the filter elements. This thesis designs a new air purifier with the similarity theory. It has a simulation of the new designed air purifier with the software Fluent. This thesis is the improvement theory basis and analysis foundation, which can help solve the field work problems. It builds the simulation model and has a simulation of this equipment’s inner field. We can have simulation experiments before it is applied to the field work so as to decrease the unne
