The U-flap is a partially detached segment of skin and subcutaneous tissue, with viability based on circulation maintained by its base and the subsequent subdermal plexus.1 The flap can be created in the area of the frontal sinuses, between the ears and even extend caudally towards the neck to create a flap that can be advanced towards the nose. With long flaps reaching the more rostral parts of the nose, there is an increased risk of partial necrosis of the flap.
