Abstract group merger of respiratory tract infection, 226 cases without respiratory tract infection and 270 synchronic inpatients without acute stroke. The differences of basic clinical data and hazards between each group had no statistical significance. 335 cases left after 70 cases were removed from the total 405 acute stroke patients. 109 cases received the hospital acquired respiratory tract infection accounting for 32.53%. Pathogenic bacteria were mainly gram negative bacteria (63.83%) and gram-positive bacteria (28.94%), and there were also some fungi. Pathogenic bacteria were mainly dominated by conditioned pathogen, among which the gram negative bacteria dominated and the Klebsiella pneumoniae was the most. As for the fatality rate of the three group, death toll of 109 cases merger of respiratory tract infection was up to 25 with the fatality rate of 22.93%.
