The pure and modified ZnO nanoparticles were analyzed and characterized by contact angle,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT【R) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGAl.The results showed that KH-570 was bound on the surface of ZnO in the manner of chemical bonding and an organic layer was formed.The modified ZnO surface changed from hydrophilic to hydrophobic.TGA revealed that th已 maximum mass fraction of KH—570 coated on the surface of ZnO was about 2.13% and 1.44%tfor the addition of 3wt% and 5wt% KH—570,respectively.
