There is usually a lawn (an area of grass) and flowers. People spend a lot of time growing flowers and they often have fruit trees so they can eat their own fruit rather than buying it. It is a common sight at the weekend to see people cutting the grass and doing their gardening. When the weather is pleasant, the children play in the garden, the adults sit in the sun, and people eat their meals outside.
