Victoria runs make-up seminars in prisons and clinics such as the Twin Towers Correctional Facilities and Cedars-Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles. She believes that, if women prisoners use make-up to soften their image, they will feel better about themselves and this will have a positive effect on people’s attitudes toward them when they leave prison. 　　While the prisoners learn to use make-up as an aid to believe in themselves, the cancer patients use the make-up routine to regain some normality in their lives. “There are few moments in the day,” says Victoria, “when we can concentrate so completely on ourselves.” The application of make-up gives cancer patients a focused routine to cope with who they are. 　　Big cosmetic companies support work like Victoria’s by providing free cosmetics for the make-up seminars, and seminars like these are now organized in many countries.
