Unit 13 Contracts Outline A Contract is a formal written agreement ,having the force of law, between two or more people or groups. There are many kinds of contracts such as contracts of employment, extension of employment contract, business contract, etc. A contract usually consists of title, body, date, place, signature and etc. It stipulates the rights and duties on both sides. Common used vocabulary: contract 合同 contract No. 合同号 contract of employment 聘用合同 extension of employment contract 续聘合同 business contract 商务合同 the engaged party 受聘方 the engaging party 聘方 to enter into an agreement 达成协议 to comply with 遵守…… to come into effect 开始生效 to cease to be effective 失效 signature 签名 expiration 期满,告终 affirm 确认 version 版本，译本 Subject 主题 stipulation 约定的条件；条款 attachment 随函附上 broker（经纪人） force majeure (不可抗力) 法语 arbitration ( 仲裁) promulgate ( 颁布) Common used sentence patterns: 1.
