Types of Narration How many types of story have you ever written/told/heard? Types of Narration It includes mainly two different types： 1. Non-fiction or factual, e.g. real events, biographical accounts and news reports. 2. Fiction, or literary narrative, e.g. novels, tales, fables, short and long stories, jokes, and fictional anecdotes. Types of Narration Read the sample writings in your book, i.e. ‘Homeward Trip’ and ‘John Waters’ and： A. Identify the type of narration, i.e. fiction or non-fiction. B. Answer the questions following each passage. Types of Narration Generally, whether a fiction or a non-fiction, a narration includes three sections/parts: the beginning or the context/setting the main body the ending Specifically, they are different in focus and intention. Types of Narration Non-fiction A non-fiction may intend to illustrate some new idea or new understanding obtained through the event, e.g. Passage One. It may have or have no conflict or climax or suspense. A non-fiction may also be a record of real life events, and may usually be plain and factual following the train of real life events’ development or simply describes the event itself little or no suspense, and d
