Section 35 公司管理 Official Writing I要点概述Main Points What are the letters concerning management? Can you give some examples? 1. What is management? Management comprises planning, organizing, leading or directing, and controlling an organization or effort for the purpose of accomplishing a goal. Management in business and human organization activity is the act of getting people together to accomplish desired goals. In management, the deployment and manipulation of human resources, financial resources, technological resources, and natural resources are of great significance. Good business management is the key to success and good management starts with setting goals. You have to set goals for the accomplishment of the many tasks necessary and you need to be specific and break major goals down into sub-goals and place a specific date showing when it is to be achieved. Meanwhile, work your plan of action to allow for obstacles which may stand in your way and try to foresee obstacles and plan ways to avert or minimize them. 2. What are the basic rules in business management? The basic rules in business management are: a) plan your goals and allow plenty of time to complete each step of your project; b) pick your team carefully and assign them the tasks needed to complete the project on time; c) fix problems when they occur and getting them solved; d) treating your employees as if they have their own ideas, tell them what you want and let them figure out how to do it rather than tell them what to do; e) manage the function of your job, rather than the paperwork.; f) let your employees do the work as your position now is to see that the jobs are completed, but not by you; g) lead by example, be approachable and don’t forget to delegate. A good manager knows what needs done, picks the people he can rely on to get it done and completes all projects on time, if not ahead of time. 3. How can you be a good manager?
