Learning Points 1.as…as construction / as…as结构的用法与翻译： ① as + adj. / ad. + as 译为“和……一样”、 “与……相同”。例如： China is as large as the whole of Europe. 中国和欧洲一样大。 John is as bright as Tom. John 和 Tom 一样聪明。 This book is as good as that one. Mary speaks French as fluently as Henry. 玛丽说法语和亨利一样流利 II. Learning Points ② as…as 后接 adj. / ad. 时，表示同一事物的两 种不同性质，= “not only…but also” 译为 “既……又”、“又……又”。例如： The wheel turns as fast as stably. 轮子转得又稳又快。 This method measurement is as simple as practical. 这种方法既实用又简单。 He is as tall as he is strong. 他又健壮又高大。 The girl is as brilliant as she is beautiful. 她既聪明又漂亮。 A miss is as good as a mile.差之毫厘，失之千里。 II. Learning Points ③ as…as 前 + nearly, almost, just, just about, quite, exactly, nothing like 等程度副词： My little sister is nearly as tall as I. 我妹妹几乎和我一样高。 He was almost as well off as myself. 他差不多和我一样富裕。 You are just as strong as ever. 你和过去一样结实。 II. Learning Points ④ as long as = provide that, if only, 引导条件状语 从句, 译为“只要……（就要）”。例如： I am happy as long as you are happy. 只要你高兴，我就高兴。 We can surely overcome those difficulties as /so long as we are closely united. 只要我们紧密地 团结在一起，就一定能克服这些困难。 II. Learning Points ⑤ as soon as 与 directly, immediately the moment 互换使用，引导时间状语从句， 译为“一……就……”。例如： I’ll go as soon as he comes. 他一来我就去。 I’ll tell him as soon as he gets in. = I’ll tell him directly he gets in. 他一来我就告诉他。 He ran off as soon as he saw us. = The moment he saw us, he ran off. 他一见我们就跑了。 II. Learning Points ⑥ as…as与 bad, much连用时，常置于句首， 引导让步状语从句。译为“尽管……”： As / So bad as he is, he has his good points.
