And mainly introduced its types and characteristics. Respectively, introduced the categories, the basic structure, the working principle, the advantages ,the disadvantages, the development prospects of active safety and passive safety systems, and so on.And made a detailed elaboration as well. Meanwhile ,this paper elaborated the auto safety act in Europe, America, Japan and China, and compared China act with foreign countries’ which pointed out the deficiencies of our legislation and put forward personal views and improvement measures.Main requirements of this paper : Searching for the domestic and foreign literature about automobile safety system. Read the automobile safety regulations in Europe, the United States, Japan and China, and point out the problems in our country, and put forward constructive suggestions.Systemic understanding of the active safety and passive safety systems of the type, structure, working principle, development history and prospect, etc. And looking to the future development of the auto safety system in China.
