* * Flow-Adapted Volume Control Volume Controlled ventilation traditionally only delivers a set flow, although this may sometimes work against the active patient. The floating trigger senses efforts made by the patient and delivers the flow rate required by the patient. The Flow-Adapted Volume Controller? delivers the volume set by the operator at a minimum. Higher inspiratory flow is available if the patient requires it. * * * * Pressure Control Settings The following settings are set: PC (Pressure Control level) above PEEP (cmH2O) Respiratory rate (b/min) PEEP (cmH2O) Oxygen concentration (%) I:E ratio Inspiratory rise time (%) Trigger sensitivity * Mode Description In Pressure Control, the pressure is constant during the inspiratory time and flow is decelerating. If, for any reason, pressure decreases during the inspiration, the flow will immediately increase to maintain the set inspiratory pressure. The delivered volume is dependent upon the pressure above PEEP, lung compliance and resistance in the patient tube system and in the airways. The maximum available flow is 3.3 l/sec - 200 l/min. The volume can vary from breath to breath. It is very important to set the alarm limits for expired minute volume to adequate levels. Inspiratory rise time in pressure control is the time to peak inspiratory pressure and flow of each breath. Settings can be in the range 0-20% of the respiratory cycle time.
