Taking ND5 as exam ple, the relationship between tract ion tones and specific fuel consumption is discussed through building suitable analysis model. With this method, we can correct the intercooler designing over and over untill getting the satisfied design. In correcting caculation we pay much at tention to heat transfer coefficient, K , and give the accurate formulation for caculating some factors, which effect K , such as convective heat exchange coefficient of supercharging air side, h b, heat conduct resistance, r 4, cooling medium con vective heat exchange coefficient of cooling medium, hw, etc. The correct ing methods of cooling area and the tempera ture of supercharging air before intercooler are also given.
