Analyze the writing characteristics of the passage T guides Ss to read the passage again and highlight at least one example for each of the four elements: facts, opinions/ predictions, reasons and solutions. T checks and explains the four elements together with the Ss. T helps Ss summarize the writing type, writing methods and writing purpose of the passage. 6’ Step III. Learn the word choices of the passage T guides Ss to match the adjectives and nouns to make meaningful expressions. Then make sentences using these expressions. T helps Ss to grasp the usage of some verb phrases by examples. T asks Ss to practice the usage of verb phrases by completing a passage about extinction. 1’ Step IV Summary T and Ss summarize the content in this class together 1’ Assignment T assigns homework.
