Ⅰ. Reading type: Intensive reading
Ⅱ.Teaching material analysis: It’s a passage about advice from grandad on how
to stop smoking.
Ⅲ. Teaching aims:
To understand the text, and learn more about the bad effects of smoking, and how to stop smoking.
To develop the reading skills(skimming/scanning for main idea,
detailed-reading for important information, etc.)
To learn how to ask for advice and give advice, as well as how to cultivate the awareness of forming good living habits.

To train the reading comprehension to the whole passage.
To improve students’ ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Enhance the students’ reading skills in the passage.

Step1. Leading-in
Watch a video about “health”, and enjoy some pictures of activities: singing, dancing, playing sports, drinking alcohol, playing computer games, smoking, and eating junk food.
设计意图:通过视听健康生活视频歌曲引出关键词“健康生活”;通过观看健康生活有关图
片,引出本节课的话题“吸烟”。学前的热身活动,激活学生的兴趣,为后续学习作准备。
