This lesson is a reading passage from Go for it 9A unit 2. By studying of this lesson, I’ll enable students to know something of Christmas, and develop the interest in English learning. (As we all know, reading belongs to the input during the process of the language learning. The input has great effect on output, such as speaking and writing.) Therefore, this lesson is in the important position of this unit. If the Ss can master it well, it will be helpful for them to learn the rest of this unit.

Students in Grade 9 have some abilities in reading and they are familiar with the topic, so it’s easy to arouse students’ interest in this lesson and encourage them to participate in the class actively. However, some students still have problems reading and understanding the passage, so the teacher continues to develop students’ reading abilities.
