PVplus Technical Information HFC Fluid Restrictions PVplus with Water-Glycol (HFC) PVplus pumps work well with Water-Glycol fluids. The life-time of the pump depends on a lot of factors such as operating pressure, oil tank design, temperature of the medium, suction conditions and service of the medium in the field. Due to the characteristics of Water-Glycol fluids there are some restrictions to the usage of PVplus pumps. The restrictions concern: Operating pressure Bearing life-time Seal option Maximum operating pressure for all sizes of PVplus is 210 bar at maximum speed of 1500 rpm. Bearing life compared to mineral oil should be calculated with a factor 25%. Seal option and flushing All pumps working with HFC fluids need seal option “W”. This means that the pump is mounted with standard NBR o-rings but with a PTFE shaft seal, specially developed for this type of fluid. All pumps with seal option “W” are equipped with bearing flushing port (L4 in the pictures below). Bearing flushing port L4 must always be used on PV140-PV270. In a vertical installation both L3 and L4 need to be used for all pump sizes. The flushing flow should be according to the table below.
