Unit 3 Under the sea Three dimensional teaching aims Knowledge aim Get to know the meaning of new words from the context. Get the students to learn more about the creature under the sea by learning the text. Ability aim Students can improve their reading skills, such as predicting, skimming and scanning. Students use reading skills to grasp the structure and the main ideas of the whole text and each paragraph. Lead-in Play a video about sea creatures and ask the students to write down some information. Do a quiz to know more about the sea creature. Step 2. Pre-reading Ask the students some questions to see how much they know about sea creature. Show the students the title and the pictures of this text and ask them to predict the content of the text. Ask students to give their opinions. Step 3. Fast reading Task 1 Read the text quickly and try to use key words or topic sentence to get the main idea of each paragraph.
