Well A was drilled in block A, and found some oil shows in the exploration target interval, but did not interpret oil layers. Similarly,well B was drilled in B block, but it did not find oil shows, from the structural map, it is drilled in the lower location, and outside the trap. The objective of the research is to analyze the seal features of the faults A and B which related to these two traps, and determine whether we can plan a well in B block within the trap closure? * * From lithology Juxtaposition map of fault A, we can see that there are many sandstone to sandstone juxtapositions, these parts can not form seal by the lithology juxtaposition. But from the SGR map, we can find that the fault has some seal ability by fault gouge. * The figure is the relationship between hydrocarbon column height and depth. From this map, combined with the structural map,we can identified the oil and water contact, for A block, the OWC is located in 1845m, and the well A was drilled outside the OWC. And it is the main reason why well A did not find oil layer. * By the same method, we can analyze the seal features of the main control fault of block B, lithology juxtaposition map shows sandstone to sandstone juxtaposition, and SGR map shows there are some seal ability in the middle part of the fault, and exist spill-points in the faults plane. * Similarly, we can determine the oil and water contact by the relationship map of HCH and depth.
