It is a low-cost airline headquartered in Singapore. It operates services to regional destinations in Southeast Asia, Australia, China and India from its main base at Singapore Changi Airport. Value added1. Meaning:Value added is a firm’s revenue minus what it paid for intermediate goods. It usually measures value created by economic activity.Therefore, it’s a very important standard to judge of the development of a company.2.How to calculate value added?Formula Value added= revenue-cost of intermediate goods 附加价值= 销售收入一外部购入价值部分3. revenue and costRevenue:Tiger air’s revenue usually comes from selling airline tickets, carriage, food and beverage and extra services.Though Tiger air is a low-cost airline, tickets are still a big part of revenue.Cost of intermediate goodsLabor:Labor is the largest single category of costs for Tiger air which is made up more than 30 percent of total costs.Aircraft FuelFuel is the second highest category of costs for the airlines. It may make up about 15 percent of an airline’s cost. But in years in which fuel costs are very high, such as 2007, fuel can make up over 30 percent of airline operating costs.Therefore, the swing in fuel prices can have important impacts on the profitability of the airline business. Equipment There are three basic types of aircraft in airline industry which are turboprop aircraft, single-aisle jets, and twin-aisle jets.
