It commonly lasts for 10 to 15 minutes 3.It can be divided in to 3 big sections ( independent section , integrated section, academic section ) 4.There is half point in speaking test ( 6,6.5,7 ) 5. Raters are from different countries around the world 6.The degree of difficulties 7. About university application ( minimum score band 6 );the arrangement of my class 1. Interactive teaching ----- tips for listening reading note taking; Marking system 1.Fluency and coherence 2.lexical resource 3.Grammatical Range and Accuracy 4.Pronunciation;Fluency and coherence 7 Can produce long responses easily Wide range of linking words ,phrases and connectives Responses are relevant to the topic There is some hesitation/ repetition /self correction ( don,t affect understanding ) Speed and flow of speech are only small part of the actual score . ;The biggest problem from Chinese students to take IELTS: Focusing too heavily on answering the question. Contain “information content” but lack the language to link these ideas together Example : what do you like about your hometown ? a typical Chinese response My hometown is Nan jing ,Nanjing is very modern so I like the buildings .All over the city , there are lots of interesting buildings being built.When I was younger most of the buildings looked the same so it wasn’t as attractive as it is nowadays . ; ;Lexical resource : HOW MANY WORDS DO I NEED ? Lexical resource 7 : To talk about wide a variety of topics in details examples of UNCOMMON WORDS Some use of idiomatic language Explain vocabulary gaps Some vocabulary may still be used incorrectly ;Biggest problem for Chinese test taker: Over use of common words : tof
