Methods： From March 2014 to January 2016， 72 cases of gastric ulcer treated were collected and diagnosed by endoscopy. With the form of number table method， they were divided into an esomeprazole group who were treated with esomeprazole 20 mg， 2 times a day and an omeprazole group treated with omeprazole 20 mg， 2 times a day for a month. The treatment effect of ulcer， helicobacter pylori eradication rate and improvement of symptom score of the two groups were observed. Results： The total effective rate of ulcer treatment in the esomeprazole group was %（35/36） and the eradication rate of helicobacter pylori was %（34/36）. The total effective rate was 75% in the omeprazole group（27/36） and the eradication rate of helicobacter pylori was %（26/36）. The improvement of symptom score of the patients in the esomeprazole group was better than that of patients in the omeprazole group and there was significant difference between the two groups（P）. Conclusion： In the clinical treatment of gastric ulcer， the effect of omeprazole is better and it can be more quickly and effectively remove helicobacter pylori.
