Course Team and Lecturer Information （1）COURSE DESCRIPTION： Intermediate English (Speaking) is an overall term used to describe spoken language in various academic and daily-life settings. The main content of this course can be divided into various parts. Each part sets up a topic related to appropriate academic discussions, thesis defense, conference host, counseling, and/or other academic activities to help students reach a higher level in spoken English. Typically, situations or activities covered include: - asking questions in class discussions/lectures - participation in seminars/pair or group discussions - making oral presentations and answering ensuing questions/points COURSE OBJECTIVES： Clarification a) requesting repeated information b) requesting additional information Interpretation check a) rephrasing information (interpreting the speakers words) b) illustrating given information (using an example as a check) Digression Challenge: querying something the speaker said.
