I was already quite close to the company at about 7:30. As I was quite well-off with time, I drank coffee at a Starbucks and watched people passing by, hurrying to their various posts until 8:40. I got into the company elevator at 8:50, and showed up in Mr. Smith’s office five minutes before the appointed time. Mr. Smith, the man in charge of interns in the company, assumed the pose of a big boss. He showed us round the company, giving us a briefaccount of every department and highlighting the brilliant achievements of each in pompous demeanor. The tour took almost an hour. Then I was asked to do some market research with some veteran staff members. Although we came up with many hard facts, I was not a little surprised to find some tricks the company had been playing. If the findings turned out to be in favor of the company, they would be publicized as much as possible; on the other hand, if the findings turned out to be unfavorable for the company, they would be concealed from the public as much as possible. I was sorely perplexed by this revelation, for such deeds were against what we had been taught in our college classrooms, i.e. truth rather than half the truth is supreme. Later on, I thought perhaps the company was just following what they thought to be the law of survival.Answer the questions: 1. How do we know that the author was excited?2.
